If only life were as simple as reading a map
If only we had a blueprint to follow
Then we would never lose ourselves
It’s our free choice which can cloud our judgement
And a weak conscience which can be compromised
We convince ourselves that we are on the right path
Even though we know that we’re wrong
We are making rash decisions
With the best intentions
Without a second thought
About the consequences
As humans we are fallible
And we need to understand
That making mistakes is part of the process
Of being a human being
They say that we need to make mistakes
Because it’s the only way that we’ll learn
But how many second chances
Will we be given in return
The judgements always come thick and fast
Mostly before the evidence has passed
But receiving second chances
Is easier said than done
There is nothing more that we can say
When people burn all of their bridges
Before they’ve made a friend
And I do not know how they go on day by day
And I do not know how they can live their life that way
Forgive and forget
What’s done is done
And there is no way that you can take it back
Forgive and forget
Now lets move on
And focus on what is lying ahead
